Evelyn Jane Williams, formerly of Bellefonte and Eagle Valley Personal Care Home, passed from this life on Thursday, February 15th at Mount Nittany Medical Center. She was 93. Born April 6, 1924 in Aaronsburg, Evelyn was a daughter of the late Floyd and Minnie (Uhl) Snavely. On September 2, 1938, she married Jesse D. Williams who preceded her in death on June 9, 2000.
Evelyn was employed for a short time at the former Mushroom Test Demonstration Facility at Penn State University. She and Jessie were lifelong farmers and she worked alongside her husband on the farm. She enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening and caring for her children. Evelyn was an avid quilter and each one she made was given away to a family member.
Evelyn is survived by 2 daughters, Mona R. Bowmaster (Jim) of Bellefonte and Debra A. Langford of Winter Park, FL; 2 sons, Jesse D. Williams (Sue) of Ruskin, FL and David P. Williams (Loan Lee) of Silver Springs, MD, and 1 sister, Miriam Copenhaver of Milroy, and one daughter in law, Alice Williams. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 20 great great grandchildren. Evelyn was preceded in death by sons, John W. and Robert L. Williams; 1 grandson, Jeremy Williams; 1 great granddaughter, Tiffany Bowmaster; 1 great grandson, Jason Bowmaster and siblings, Grace Gentzel, and William, Jack and Richard Snavely.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday from 10-11 am at the Steven R. Neff Funeral Home in Millheim. The funeral service will follow at 11 am with Pastor Bob Dornan officiating. Evelyn will be laid to rest in West Central Cemetery in Madisonburg.
