Gary Lewis Hansen, 60, of Millheim, passed from this life on February 18th, 2015 at Mount Nittany Medical Center. Born June 28, 1954 in Grass Valley, CA, Gary is a son of the late Herman and Beatrice “Tull” Hansen. Gary is survived by his wife of 39 years, Margaret “Peg” Hansen.
In addition to his wife, Gary is survived by two sons, Michael and Matthew Hansen, both of Millheim; two sisters, Carolyn Ball (Kervie) of Yucaipa, CA and Kristine Shake (Robert) of Taylorville, IL.
Gary was employed as a cabinetmaker for Shunk’s Kitchens in Centre Hall. In his “off work” time he worked in his own wood shop. Gary loved to work with young children. He had previously coached a local youth soccer league. He was very involved with the local Troop 88 of Boy Scouts of America. Above all else, Gary enjoyed spending quality time with his family.
A memorial service for Gary is being tentatively planned for a later date. Contributions in memory of Gary may be given to BSA Troop 88, c/o St. John’s Lutheran Church, Po Box 439, Millheim, PA 16854.
