Jean Anna Kerstetter, 88, of Aaronsburg, passed from this life on May 21, 2016. Born January 23, 1928 in Aaronsburg, Jean is a daughter of the late Thurman and Blanche “Confer” Braucht. She was a graduate of East Penns Valley High School. On June 7, 1948, she married Albert Kerstetter who preceded her in death on August 30, 1995.
Jean was first employed at the Millheim Hosiery Mill and then by Gettig Pharmaceutical, retiring from there. She was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church in Aaronsburg. She loved to read, do word search and in her earlier years she enjoyed gardening. She also enjoyed playing bingo and quilting.
Jean is survived by two daughters; Sally Walker (Sam) of Greensville and Becky Himes (Jerry) of Milroy; three grandchildren, Jerry Allen Himes, Jr. (Hilleary), Matthew Himes and Hannah Cassell (Michael). Also surviving is one brother, Dean Braucht of Turbotville and two great grandchildren, Olivia Himes and Abigail Himes. Jean was preceded in death by four siblings, John Braucht, Arlene Foust, Miriam Braucht and Betty Braucht.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, May 24 from noon to 1:00 pm at the Steven R. Neff Funeral Home in Millheim. The funeral will follow at 1:00 pm. Jean will be laid to rest at Fairview Cemetery in Millheim. Contributions in memory of Jean may be given to Salem Lutheran Church, Po Box 700, Aaronsburg, Pa. 16820 or to the American Cancer Society, 1375 Martin Street, Suite 206, State College, Pa. 16803.
