We were blessed to be neighbors of Jean and Stanley from the time we were married in 1974 until Stanley died and Jean moved to Salem Hill. I remember the gorgeous vegetable and flower gardens Jean kept and her immaculate lawn. Her home always had everything in perfect order and never a cluttered look. And her cats were well loved. Every Christmas, we would drop off party mix which Jean really liked, but she didn't think so much of the plate of cookies as I don't believe she had a "sweet tooth"! It was a beautifully written obituary about Jean and fascinating to learn that Jean was the first female bus driver for Penns Valley. Jean's family meant a great deal to her, and the support you gave her over the years must have been such a comfort to her. May our Lord comfort each of you.

I just read of Aunt Jean's passing. I am so very sorry to hear this! My last memory of her was when my Dad, John Gilmore, and I went to visit her about a year or two before he died. Such a sweet woman. Now, they are all together again. Many prayers for her and for all who were blessed to have known her.

Thanks, Karen, for capturing Jean so perfectly with your words. She was a special lady and so very fortunate to have you in her life. You brought her to life as I remembered her driving us to school. Those beautiful Penns Valley memories are so much a part of all of us--even as we age. Thanks, again. Nancy Colyer Stoner
