June Marie (McCool) Vonada, 82, formerly of Woodward, PA, passed away on April 15, 2015 at Salem Hill Haven, Spring Mills. She was born June 8, 1932 in Bellefonte to Earl and Ruth Ann (Knoll) Motz, who preceded her in death. June married Russell L. Vonada on August 7, 1952, who also preceded her in death.
June was a graduate of Penns Valley High School. She retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 26 years of service as a clerk then postmaster for the Woodward Post Office. June was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church and the Women’s Auxiliary in Woodward. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, and spending time with Lily, her canine companion.
Surviving June are her son, Ardell “Pickle” (Cindy) Vonada of Woodward, her daughter, Linda (Bill) Wright of Holly Springs, NC, 3 grandchildren; Shana of Milesburg, Brett of Woodward, and Jeff (Heather) of Vermont, 4 great grandchildren; McKenna, Kamryn, Blaine, and Ruby June.
A memorial service will be scheduled at the request of the family. June will be laid to rest at the Woodward Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at stevenrnefffuneralhome.com.
