Surrounded by her loving family, Levina “Betty” B. Styers, 87, of Coburn, passed from this life at her home on Tuesday, November 8th.  Born April 4, 1929 in Oak Hall, Betty is a daughter of the late Wilbur L. and Sara “Summers” Spicer.  On December 24, 1947, Betty married the love of her life, Robert U. Styers, Sr.  Mr. Styers survives at their home.

In addition to her husband, Betty is survived by two daughters, Bonnie L. Auman (Steve) and Margaret L. Fetterolf (Butch) both of Coburn; three sons, Robert U. Styers, Jr. (Lynnea), Barry L. Styers (Kathie) and Marlin R. “Merf” Weaver (Shelly) all of Coburn; twelve grandchildren, Kenny, Beth, Scott, Ernie, Lori, Lisa, Wendy, Robert III, Jesse, Macada, Matthew and Megan and sixteen great great grandchildren.  Also surviving are two brothers, Bradley Spicer (Leann) of Baton Rouge, LA and Michael Spicer (Patti) of Boalsburg; one sister, Freda Jacobs (Robert) of Castanea and one son-in-law, Kenneth Kline.   Betty was preceded in death by one daughter, April A. Kline, an infant great grandson, Robert IV and siblings Wilbur Lee Spicer, Roy Spicer, Glenn Spicer, Barbara Smitley and Rena McCracken.

Betty was a loving wife and mother.  She helped Bob with the farming in her younger years.  Her family was her life.  She enjoyed cooking and baking.  Her most favorite times were when any holiday came around and it gave a reason to call a family get together.  They would congregate in the back yard under the tree and have a campfire/cookout.  She was a member of Mt. Nittany United Methodist Church in Lemont.  In her spare time, Betty enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and doing embroidery.  Betty will be missed, but her family will always remember her legacy of love.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9-10:30 am on Saturday, November 12th at the St. James United Methodist Church in Coburn, with the funeral to follow at 10:30 with Pastor Chris Lutz officiating.  Betty will be laid to rest in Fairview West Cemetery in Millheim.  Contributions in Betty’s memory may be given to Centre Crossing Hospice, 2437 Commercial Blvd. #6, State College, PA 16801 or to St. James UMC, Po Box 90, Coburn, PA. 16832.
