Marian M. Aukerman, 86, formerly of Spring Mills, passed from this life on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at Centre Crest Nursing Home in Bellefonte. Born July 11, 1928 in Potters Mills, Marian is a daughter of the late Ted and Jessie (Harshbarger) Wyland. She was married to Howard R. Aukerman who preceded her in death.
Marian was employed at Penn State University in the food services department with 19 years of service. She enjoyed spending time at her summer home in Synagogue Gap, Spring Mills, working in her flower garden, playing bingo, going to the casino, and most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by four daughters, Marty Boob (Larry) of Aaronsburg, Bonnie Szymanski of Atlanta, GA, Karen Fedisson (Joe) of Pleasant Gap and Sharon Hege (Dave) of Centre Hall. Also surviving is one brother Bruce Wyland (Stella) of Potters Mills, seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Marian was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Jennifer Hege and three sisters and five brothers.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, January 10th from noon – 2:00 pm at the Steven R. Neff Funeral Home in Millheim, followed by the funeral service with Pastor Scott Klimke officiating. Marian will be laid to rest in Sprucetown Cemetery in Spring Mills at a later date. Contributions in memory of Marian may be given to Alzheimer’s Association, 3544 N Progress Ave, Ste. 205, Harrisburg, PA 17110 or to Centre Crest Auxilliary, 502 E Howard St, Bellefonte, Pa. 16823. Arrangements are entrusted to the Steven R. Neff Funeral Home.
