Richard E. (Dick) Miller, 61, passed away on March 30, 2015 at Geisinger Medical Center. He was born on May 27, 1953 in Lock Haven, PA to the late Dale E. Miller and Lorraine F. (Walker) Miller, surviving of Madisonburg. Dick married Donna M. Young on October 9, 1976.

Dick was a 1971 graduate of Penns Valley High School. After graduation Dick had a cattle hauling business and farmed with his dad on the family farm.  In 1978 he went to work for R.E. Breon & Sons which later became Montour Oil and then Superior Plus Energy of Rebersburg. He was a member of Christ's United Church of Christ, the Miles Township Fire Company, where he also was Fire Chief for two years and assistant fire chief for 10 years. Dick took great pride to the fact that his two sons also have held the title of fire chief. He was also a member at Sugar Valley and Millheim Fire Companies, and the Bucktail Hunting Club.  He enjoyed his Friday Night Poker games at the fire hall or anywhere he was invited to play. He enjoyed helping to farm on the Fern Valley farm for his cousins, Glenn and Norma Jean Miller. He especially enjoyed all his grandchildren and his partner in crime, Roger Myers of Spring Mills, who was like his brother.

Surviving are two sons; Bradly (Jessica) Miller and Eric (Kelly) Miller of Rebersburg, one sister; Melanie (Butch) Macknair of Lewistown, 6 grandchildren; Owen, Colby, Madelyn, Haley, Alyza and Jase Miller, a niece; Lisa (Luke) Savitts, two great nieces, and one nephew of Lewistown.

Visitation will be Friday, April 3rd from 2-4 PM at the Miles Township Fire Hall followed by a memorial service officiated by Pastor Andrew Cooley. Dick will be laid to rest at the United Church of Christ and Lutheran Cemetery, Madisonburg. Memorial contributions may be made in Dick’s name to the Miles Township Fire Company Truck Fund, PO Box 155, Rebersburg, PA 16872.
