Robert L. Snare, 78, of Rebersburg, passed away on Monday, September 4, 2017 at Geisinger Lewistown Hospital. Born June 18, 1939 in Milroy, Bob was a son of the late Melvin and Mary “Wilson” Snare. On April 26, 1969, he married Charlotte Rote who survives at their home.
Bob proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He was employed as a carpenter/maintenance man by Pennsylvania DCNR. He was a member of the Evangelical Methodist Church in Milroy. Bob was a talented woodworker. One time he made 400 bluebird houses for his job with the state. He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan and also enjoyed hunting, fishing and cooking.
In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by one sister, Elaine Spicer of Milroy and one brother, Terry Snare of Penn Hall along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his only daughter, Donna Snare and siblings Alice Auman, Ethel Snavely, Claralou Zerby, Katherine Snare, Melvin Snare, Jr. and Harry Snare.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, September11th from 9:30-11:00 am at the Steven R. Neff Funeral Home in Millheim, followed by the funeral at 11 am with Rev. William Herrick officiating. Bob will be laid to rest in Holy Cross Cemetery in Spring Mills. Contributions in memory of Bob may be given to the Steven R.
