Romayne K. Long, 99, formerly of Aaronsburg, passed from this life on September 4, 2017 at her daughter Romayne’s home with whom she resided.  Born July 15, 1918 in Bellefonte, Romayne was a daughter of the late John H. and Bertha E. (Musser) Tressler.  She was married to Elmer R. Long who passed away on October 2, 1998.  She attended Bellefonte Elementary School, East Penns Valley High School and later attained her GED through State College High School. 

Romayne enjoyed sewing, crocheting, crafts, roller skating, snow mobiling, riding motorcycle, playing horseshoes and listening to her favorite radio station, WPGM Danville.  She also loved children and babysitting for them.  Romayne and her husband enjoyed working together. He taught her painting, paper hanging and carpentry.  She loved the outdoors, watching birds and hiking.  She was a former Sunday School teacher in the nursery at Emanuel Pilgrim Church in State College.  She worked at Centre Hills Country Club, St. Andrews Episcopal Church as a janitor until September 1957, and then she moved to Penn State in Food Services until 1969.  Lastly she worked at the Millheim Hosiery Mill until it closed.  She was a member of Millheim and Brush Valley Sr. Citizens and R.S.V.P. since 1990.  Romayne attended Penns Valley God’s Missionary Church in Spring Mills.

Romayne is survived by children, Romayne Emel (Raymond) of Bellefonte, Irene Grey of Barberton, OH and Esther Homan of Spring Mills; one sister, Larue Witmer of Bellefonte and one brother, Leroy Tressler of State College.  Also surviving are numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.  In addition to her husband, Romayne was preceded in death by two stepsons, Paul and Clarence Long; two sisters, Meariam Cain and Edna Young and two brothers, Harold Tressler and John Tressler, Jr.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, September 8, 2017 from 10-noon at the Penns Valley God’s Missionary Church, Rte. 45, Spring Mills, followed by the funeral at noon with Pastor Andrew Cooley officiating.  Romayne will be laid to rest in Farmers Mills Cemetery.  Contributions in her memory may be given to Penns Valley God’s Missionary Church, 109 Evergreen Lane, Spring Mills, PA  16875.
