Virgil W. Hosterman, of Aaronsburg, passed from this life on February 9th at Mount Nittany Medical Center. He was 91. Born September 3, 1925 in Aaronsburg, Virgil was a son of the late Ellsworth R. and Susan M. “Benner” Hosterman. He attended East Penns Valley Schools. In August of 1945, Virgil married Mildred I. “Doll” Styers who survives at their home. His passing breaks a marriage of 71 years.
In addition to his wife, Virgil is survived by one son, Glenn E. Hosterman (Mary) of Aaronsburg; one grandson, Bret W. Hosterman (Christa) of State College and one great grandson, Gavin L. Hosterman. Virgil was preceded in death by 3 siblings, Janet Shawver, Mary Homan and John Hosterman.
Virgil was a farmer all his life. He and Doll worked hard side by side to make a living for the family. He worked as a supervisor for Haines Township. He enjoyed hunting. Virgil was a good hearted man, always willing to help people in any way he could. He will be greatly missed by his family.
In accordance with Virgil’s wishes, there are no public services. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to the charity of donor’s choice.
