Ephraim R. Stoltzfus, of Howard, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, March 17, 2024, at Hershey Medical Center. He was 54. Born November 2, 1969, in Lancaster, Ephraim was the son of the late Elam E. and Priscilla J. “Reihl” Stoltzfus. On December 8, 2001, Ephraim married Stephanie Lindley who survives.
Ephraim was employed as a laborer with Deer Country Construction. He had been employed as a horse caretaker previous to that, along with other odd jobs. Ephraim absolutely loved all things horses, including horse shows, horse auctions and attending rodeos. Ephraim attended the God’s Missionary Church in New Columbia. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing games with family and friends. He especially enjoyed beach vacations. Most of all, family was very important to Ephraim, and he worked hard to take care of Stephanie and his daughters. He loved his nieces and nephews like they were his own children. He loved interacting with all children, and they loved interacting with him. He could calm a crying baby or put them to sleep when no one else could.
In addition to his wife, Ephraim is survived by two daughters, Lorissa Lindley of Lewistown and Olivia Stoltzfus and her fiancé John of Hanover: five siblings, John Stoltzfus (Anna), Mary Stoltzfus, Elam Stoltzfus and Susie Stoltzfus, all of Mill Hall and Sadie Esh (Mark, Sr.) of Howard, numerous nieces and nephews and his sister-in-law, Emily of Mifflinburg. Ephraim was preceded in death by his brother, Alvin Stoltzfus, a nephew, Mark Esh, Jr. and his infant twin niece and nephew.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, March 22, 2024, from 6-9 pm at the God’s Missionary Church, 1693 Creek Road in Beavertown, PA. The funeral service will be held at the church on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 11:00 am with Rev. Randy Neville and Rev. Brian Spangler officiating. There will be a one-hour visitation prior to the funeral service. Ephraim will be laid to rest in the God’s Missionary Church Cemetery in Beavertown. Contributions in memory of Ephraim may be sent to Steven R. Neff Funeral Home, POB 437, Millheim, PA 16854.
