Helen M. (Flick) Strouse

Helen M. Strouse, 75, of Spring Mills, passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Mount Nittany Medical Center.  Born March 31, 1942 in Bellefonte, Cook was a daughter of the late Forrest M. and Marie K. “Baney” Flick.  On July 15, 1978, Cook married John E. “Jim” Strouse, Jr, who survives at their home.  

 Cook was employed at Gettig Pharmaceutical, retiring in 2005 with 42 years of service.  She was a member of the Gregg Township Ladies Auxiliary.  She loved to go camping, attend flea markets and Grange Fair.  When she was able she was enjoyed being outdoors working with her flowers.  Most of all she enjoyed just spending quality time with her family.    

 In addition to her husband, Cook is survived by one son, Tony Strouse (Krista) of Milroy; one stepdaughter, Deann Paterson of State College and one stepson, Daren Strouse also of State College; three grandchildren, Seth Paterson, Dominico Gordon and Wyatt Strouse.  Also surviving is one sister, Delores Ishler of Bellefonte, and one brother, Donald Flick (Martha) of McElhattan.  Cook was preceded in death by one sister, Ellen Flick and, one brother, James Flick.

 In accordance with Cook’s wishes, she will be laid to rest in Heckman Cemetery in Spring Mills during a private service.  Contributions in memory of Cook may be given to the charity of donor’s choice.
