Evelyn L. Vonada

Evelyn L. Vonada, 90, formerly of Aaronsburg, passed from this life on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Juniper Village in State College.  Born in Aaronsburg, Evelyn was a daughter of the late Ralph C. and Mae A. Kline.  She was a 1945 graduate of East Penns Valley High School.  On November 23, 1947 she married Paul E. Vonada, who preceded her in death on November 8, 2003.

Early in life, Evelyn was employed at the former Laurelton State Village, where she was responsible for a group of girls working in the fields.  She also baby sat throughout the years and was extremely proud of her charge.  Evelyn enjoyed quilting, gardening, baking and especially baking at the Aaronsburg Dutch Fall Festival.  Most of all, Evelyn enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and special friends Pastor K.R. and Gina Mele.

Evelyn is survived by two sons, Ricky P. Vonada (Linda), and Allen R. Vonada (Kelly) both of Mifflinburg; one daughter, Sharalyn M. Emigh (Sam) of Tyrone; seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.  Also surviving are siblings, Betty Hess, Kathryn Mobley, Ralph Kline, Jr., Bernice Capparella, Mervin Kline, and Bonnie Mitchell.  In addition to her husband, Evelyn was preceded in death by a brother, Russell Kline and a sister, Doris McWilliams. 

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, October 23rd from 10-11 am at the Calvary Baptist Church, Penn Street in Millheim.  The funeral will follow at 11 am with Pastor K.R. Mele officiating.  Evelyn will be laid to rest in Stover Cemetery in Aaronsburg.  Contributions in memory of Evelyn may be given to Home Nursing Agency/Hospice, Po Box 352, Altoona PA  16603-9928.
