Luella Elizabeth (Fetzer) Snyder

Luella E. Snyder, of Lewistown, passed from this life on July 13, 2018 at William Penn Nursing and Rehab in Lewistown.  She was 95.  Born October 29, 1922 in Julian, Luella was a daughter of the late Samuel M. and Dora E. “Christian” Fetzer.  She was married to Russell Snyder who preceded her in death in 2003.

Earlier in her life, Luella was employed at the former G.C. Murphy store in Bellefonte.  She was an avid bingo player, collector of bells, and she enjoyed word search, crocheting and putting together puzzles.  Luella was a longtime camper at the Grange Fair and would gather the family every year when fair time came around for the week long adventure. 

Surviving Luella is one daughter, Imagee D. Hoy (Ronald) of Lewistown; one son, David M. Snyder (Nancy) of AZ and one brother David Fetzer of TN.  Also surviving are grandchildren, Michael Snyder (Robin), Kimberly Winslow (Andrew), Matthew Snyder, Jeffrey Snyder, Elizabeth Snyder, Crystal Barger (Todd) and John Snyder, along with 17 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.  In addition to her husband, Luella was preceded in death by 2 sons, Samuel C. Snyder and Russel W. Snyder, Jr. and siblings Arthur Fetzer and Aletha Ludwig. 

A visitation for family and friends will be at the Steven R. Neff Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 18th from 10 am till noon, followed by the funeral service at noon with Michael Snyder, Luella’s grandson officiating.  Luella will be laid to rest in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Mill Hall.  In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Luella may be given to the Steven R. Neff Funeral Home, POB 437 Millheim, PA 16854 or to the charity of donor’s choice.
