Myron H. Rote, 56, formerly of Coburn, passed from this life on Monday, November 12, 2018 at his home in Palmyra, PA. Born September 7, 1962 in Bellefonte, Myron was the son of the late Harold H. and Marion J. “Hannon” Rote. He was a 1980 graduate of Penns Valley Area High School and went on to attain an associate degree in Automotive Repair from the former Williamsport Area Community College, now Pennsylvania College of Technology in Williamsport.
Myron was employed for over 30 years as a Sales and Service Manager at Goodyear and retired in 2006. Following his retirement, he started his own shop called My Service Center. There he completed both standard car repair and custom specialty work.
Myron loved all things racing. He loved going fast! Among his passions were NASCAR, Drag Racing, and racing radio controlled cars. He even fine-tuned race cares and built his own RC car engines.
Surviving Myron is one brother, Brad Perry, his wife Deborah, and their two children, Nathaniel and Zachariah.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, November 18th from 4-5 pm at the Steven R. Neff Funeral Home in Millheim. The memorial service will follow at 5 pm with Pastor Kenneth Freed officiating. Guests are also welcome to join the family afterwards for an informal reminiscence at OIP.
