Randall I. Boob, of Spring Mills, passed from this life on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Hearthside Nursing Home in State College. He was 95. Born in Coburn on December 7, 1922, Randall was a son of the late Warren and Ada (Corman) Boob. He was a 1940 graduate of East Penns Valley High School. On August 23, 1945, he married Lois Shook who preceded him in death on December 6, 2006.
Randall proudly served his country during World War II in the Army/Air Force, where he was a gunner on a B17 Flying Fortress. He earned the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal with four oak leaf clusters. Upon his arrival back home Randall went to farming. He eventually was employed as a sewage plant operator by Bellefonte Borough. Randall was a member of the Salem United Church of Christ, the Gregg Twp. Fire Company, the American Legion Keystone Post #444 in Millheim and a member of the former CCC in Poe Valley. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Randall is survived by one daughter, Karen L. Glasgow of Spring Mills; one granddaughter, Nicole Roberts also of Spring Mills; and two great grandchildren, Wyatt and Faith Roberts. Also surviving is a brother, Donald Boob and a sister, Marie Bathgate of Lemont. In addition to his wife, Randall was preceded in death by two sisters, Evelyn Brandt and Arlene Rote.
A visitation for family and friends will be held at the Steven R. Neff Funeral Home from 10-11am on Saturday, May 5th, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am with Pastor Michael Covalt officiating. Randall will be laid to rest with military honors at Heckman Cemetery.
