Hosterman and Ella (Corman) Hosterman. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Thomas and Warren and sisters, Rachael, Tona, Lodi, Carola, Lola, and Rosalyn.
Bob was the Salutatorian of his 1932 graduating class at East Penn’s Valley High School. He graduated from Lock Haven State Teachers College in 1942 with a degree in Elementary Education and went on to attain his M.S.E.D. from Bucknell in June of 1951. He was a WWII Naval veteran who spent his war years in Guam.
After the war, Bob bought a new car and drove across the country from San Diego home to Aaronsburg and then on to Philadelphia where he worked for many years. After he retired, he moved to Harrisburg, and eventually back to Aaronsburg, where he was known as the “Stone Kicker” as he spent much of his time walking along the roads kicking stones. He enjoyed doing crossword and word search puzzles. He was a member of the Millheim American Legion Keystone Post #444 where he loved to play pool. Bob is survived by many nieces and nephews scattered throughout the country and is fondly remembered by many for showing up with gifts and sending annual birthday cards. A special thanks to Genevieve Krape for her gracious caregiving and assisting Bob in his affairs over the last years of his life.
