Wayne Weaver Obituary

Wayne A. Weaver, 81, of Rebersburg, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College.  Born November 23, 1937 in Rebersburg, Wayne was a son of the late Gail K. and Chestie Anna Emily (Shultz) Weaver.  He was a 1955 graduate of Miles Township High School in Rebersburg.  On May 24, 1958 he married Patricia L. Scaff who survives at their home.

Wayne attended two years of seminary at Bob Jones University before transferring to Shippensburg University where he attained a Master’s Degree in Business Education.  He was first employed as a Business Teacher at Bald Eagle Nittany High School in Mill Hall before going to Penns Valley Area High School in Spring Mills.  He retired in 1992 with 30+ years of service.  Wayne was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Rebersburg.  While there he led a longtime discipleship group in his home with his wife, Pat.  The last three years he has attended Trinity United Methodist Church in Woodward where he led a bible study group on Wednesday nights.  Wayne was an avid golfer, bowler and hunter.  He also loved competing in snowmobile racing.  He was competitive in all he did, and his many trophies show it.  Most of all, Wayne loved his family and spending time with them.  He will be dearly missed.

In addition to his wife, Pat, Wayne is survived by two daughters, Cynthia Welshans (Patrick) of Avis and Jacqueline Imes (Bill) of Newport; nine grandchildren, Jessica Dull (Timothy), Valerie Imes, Shelby Alterio (Franklin), Darren Welshans (Nicole), Norman Wenrick IV (Dann), Stephanie Phillips (Chris) Jordan Welshans (Britney), Chelsea Reich and Tricia Reich and fourteen great grandchildren, Alishia, Dakota, Alexia, Cheyanna, Devin, Khristian, Isabella, Liam, Jade, Skye, Levi, Arianna, Aidyn and Brynlee.  Also surviving is one son in law, David Reich.  Wayne was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Weaver and a daughter, Nicole Reich.

Family and friends will be received on Monday, January 21, 2019 from 10:00 – 11:00 am at the Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Rebersburg.  The memorial service will follow at 11:00 am with Pastors Valerie Delooze and Theresa Heiser officiating.  Wayne will be laid to rest in the Evangelical Cemetery in Rebersburg.  Contributions in memory of Wayne may be given to Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Po Box 34, Rebersburg, PA 16872 or to Trinity United Methodist Church, Po Box 157, Woodward, PA 16882
