Aida Mae Lamey, 86, of Centre Hall, formerly of Wolf Store, passed away Sunday, January 19, 2025, at the Lock Haven Rehab and Senior Living. Born June 7, 1938, in Wolf Store, Aida was the daughter of the late W. Paul and Caroline F. “Gardener” Weagley. On June 16, 1955, Aida married Ray H. Lamey, Sr. who preceded her in death April 17, 1995.
Aida was the wife of a farmer, faithfully working alongside Ray from 1956 -1987. After they no longer farmed, she was employed at Riverside market which later became Bi-Lo supermarket, retiring with ten years of service. Some of Aida's hobbies included playing softball in her younger years, hunting, fishing, knitting and playing cards. After her stroke, which left her wheelchair bound, she found a new hobby of coloring in adult coloring books. Aida was also known for her love of westerns and her cat Smoky. Aida was strong-willed and never let her disability stop her from the things she enjoyed the most, which were baking and cooking for everyone that stopped by. Aida especially loved playing bingo with friends and family. Aida became an advocate member of the Nittany Bible Church where she enjoyed sharing her love and faith with everyone.
Aida dearly loved her family. Those left behind to cherish Aida’s memory are her two daughters, Lorrie Slack (Herb) and Missy Crust (Bob) both of Spring Mills, a daughter in law Cindy Lamey Kocher of Bald Eagle; two nephews who were raised as “sons” by Ray and Aida, Ronald Lamey of Potters Mills and Joe Lamey (Sue) of Rebersburg; her half-sister Dollie Decker (Delbert) of Spring Mills, and a stepsister, Beverly Capperella of Bellefonte. Also surviving are ten grandchildren, Isaac Slack (Mara), Elliot Slack (Melanie), Sherman Crust (Carol), Bobby Crust (Danielle), Christina Stover (Chad), Brad Lamey (Edith), Clair Lamey (Bobbi Jo), Tina Hook (Jason), Billie Joe Lamey, and Jesse Lamey, as well as nineteen great grandchildren: Aliza and Nolen Stover, Seth Fultz, Caleb, Camron, Bri and Sherman, Jr. Crust, Preston Slack, Kiera and Leah Kelly, Maggie Lamey, Makenzie Lamey, Andrea Wasson, Dalton and Cassandra Ulmanic, Brayden Wolfgang, and Lauren and Logan Lamey and four great great grandchildren, Kalani and Kyla Kelly, and Robbin Crust, and Layla Wasson.
Aida was preceded in death by a son, Ray H. Lamey, Jr, two granddaughters, Sara Crust and Tess Schreffler, a grandson Michael Lamey and a daughter in law, Linda Lamey.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, January 25, 2025, from 12 noon until 1:00 pm at the Nittany Bible Church, 461 Deibler Road, PA Furnace.
