Amy R. Grove, beloved daughter, wife, mother, “memeem” and friend to many, passed away unexpectedly at her home on April 5, 2023. She was 53. Born May 1, 1969 in Bellefonte, Amy was a daughter of the late Charles Swanger and Lois “Rockey” Swanger of State College. She was a 1987 graduate of State College High School. On October 27, 1990, she married Theodore F. Grove, Jr. who survives at their home.
Amy was employed as a Branch Operations Partner for Truist Bank in State College. She enjoyed traveling to Florida or anywhere there was a beach. Amy collected teddy bears, enjoyed attending Grange Fair and was an avid watcher of NASCAR. Most of all, Amy enjoyed spending time with her family and especially loved being a “memeem” to her grandchildren.
In addition to her mother and husband, Amy is survived by two daughters, Nichole Griffin (William) of Altoona and Megan Grove of Centre Hall: one brother, Craig Swanger: her beloved grandchildren, Luke Grove and Gabriel Griffin, along with her loyal canine friends, Daisy, Moose and Iris. In addition to her father, Amy was preceded in death by one son, Franklin Grove and her stepfather, Bob Swanger.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, from 10:00 am until noon at the Steven R. Neff Funeral Home in Millheim. The funeral service will follow at noon with Pastor Michael Covalt officiating. Amy will be laid to rest in Farmers Mills Union Cemetery in rural Spring Mills.
