Anna K. Nicka, 78, of Austin, PA, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2024, at the home of her daughter with whom she had been staying, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Born December 12, 1945, in Germany, Anna was a daughter of the late Mykola and Michalina “Kotowycz” Neczeporenko. On April 29, 1967, she married her high school sweetheart, Richard P. Nicka who survives.
Anna worked various service jobs throughout her life, but her primary focus was being a homemaker and mother. She had a passion for fly tying and fly fishing and enjoyed sharing her knowledge with the community. Anna also liked to pass the time gardening. Most of all Anna enjoyed time spent with her husband and her family, primarily at their home in Wharton. Anna always wanted to make memories by bringing her family together for cookouts and holidays.
In addition to her husband, Anna is survived by one daughter, Nickol Cleary (Shawn) of Spring Mills; one son, Joshua Nicka (Megan) of Austin; two brothers, Tymofij Neczeporenko and Mykola Neczeporenko, Jr. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Anderson, Aydan, Khloe, Madisen, Ella and Ryan, along with one great grandson, Wesley. Anna was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Avery and Colton.
A service for Anna will be held at a later date in Potter County. Contributions in her memory can be given to Project Healing Waters at www.https://projecthealingwaters.org. Arrangements were entrusted to the Steven R. Neff Funeral Home.
