Barbara Breon Obituary

Barbara M. Breon, formerly of Millheim and Rebersburg, passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at Mount Nittany Medical Center.  She was 92.

Born March 24, 1932, in Millheim, Barbara was a daughter of the late Ralph N. and Muriel L. “Aukerman” Brown.  Barbara was a 1950 graduate of the former East Penns Valley High School.  She was married to Harold Breon who preceded her in death in 1962.  She then married Calvin Breon who preceded her in death in 1994.

Barbara was employed as a waitress at the Millheim Hotel and Stop 64 in Lamar, PA. She was a member of the former Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Rebersburg and was involved for many years with the former Brush Valley Choir and the Ladies Red Hat Society.  Barb was known for making terrific shoefly pies and participated in the annual Rebersburg yard sale. Barb enjoyed puzzles, making dried flower arrangements and bird watching with hummingbirds being her favorite.  She served her community through volunteering her time with the bookmobile, the blood bank and at Centre Community Hospital, now Mount Nittany Medical Center, where she volunteered for 30 plus years. 

Barbara is survived by three daughters, Candace Wert (Lance) of FL, Melody Wright (David) of CO. and Melissa Stover (Corby) of PA; one son, Michael Breon of PA, one stepdaughter, Patricia Haugh (Gene) of VA; and one brother, David Brown of NY.  Also surviving are six grandchildren, David Wert (Lisa), Stephanie Wert, Jordan Wright (Sara), Kelly Jackson (David), Andrew Stover (Maggie), and Rebecca Ford (Joe); three step grandchildren, Amy Dodds (Larry), Jennifer Ulsh (Michael) and Mitchell Haugh (Lindsey) along with fifteen great grandchildren.  Barbara was preceded in death by an infant brother, Barry Brown, her son, Scott Breon and her daughter in law, Mary Breon.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, from 1-2 pm at the Steven R. Neff Funeral Home in Millheim.  The funeral will follow at 2:00 pm.  Barbara will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in Millheim.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in memory of Barbara be given to Pets Come First, 2451 General Potter Highway, Centre Hall, PA 16828.
