Barry L. “Bingo” Kauffman, of Coburn, passed away at his home on Friday, July 25, 2025. He was 72. Born July 5, 1953, in Wagontown, PA, Barry was a son of the late Frank Kauffman, Jr. and Jean (Reilly) Kauffman. He was married for 50 years to Rosadele (Tracey) Kauffman who survives.
In addition to his wife, Barry is survived by one daughter, Rebecca “Becky” Kauffman Wert of Centre Hall: one son, Troy Kauffman (Tina) of Spring Mills and four sisters, Frances Bushong (Dale) of Annville, Joanne Flowers (Ed) of Manheim, Janet Polhemus of MO and Judy Kauffman of Pineville, MO. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Thomas Kauffman (Katy), Emily Wert, Caroline Wert, J. Porter Wert and Logan Wert.
Barry was preceded in death by three brothers, Frank Kauffman, III, David Kauffman and Larry Kauffman.
Barry was a lifetime member of the Millheim Fireman’s Club and the American Legion Keystone Post #444. He was employed as a mason in the construction industry. He had also worked as a snowmaker at Tussey Mountain Ski resort for ten years. He was an avid fisherman and also enjoyed hunting, gardening, traveling. He was a renowned winemaker in the local area and enjoyed mentoring younger people in the craft and in life in general. Barry was well known for his handlebar mustache of which he was a connoisseur.
To celebrate Barry’s life, a Garden Party with light refreshments will be held on August 17, 2025, from 2:00 until 5:00 pm at his residence. Contributions in memory of Barry may be given to the Millheim Fireman’s Club.
