Betty H. (Haugh) Horner

Betty H. Horner formerly of Spring Mills, passed from this life on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at Centre Care in Bellefonte.  She was 93.  Born May 7, 1928 in Spring Mills, Betty was a daughter of the late Clarence G. and Estella J. “Baney” Haugh.  She was a graduate of the former Gregg Township Vocational School in Spring Mills.  On June 7, 1947 she married George E. Horner who preceded her in death on October 14, 2014. 

Betty is survived by one daughter, Debora Horner Weaver of TN; one son, Larry E.  Horner (Brenda); one brother, C. Gene Haugh (Patty) of VA; and three grandchildren, Angela Summers, Jaime Hays (Ash) and Lindsay Betts (Geoff).  Also surviving are four great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.  Betty was also preceded in death by siblings, Helen Weaver, Glenn Haugh and Bobby Haugh.

Betty was employed at the former Gettig Pharmaceuticals, retiring with 30 + years of service.  She enjoyed walking and crocheting, making many afghans for her family.  In her earlier years she enjoyed vegetable gardening and also worked in the gift shop at Penns Cave.  Betty attended Grange Fair but only because of George because he loved the fair.  Most of all Betty loved to spend time with her grandchildren.

In accordance with family wishes, all services are private.  Betty will be laid to rest in the Yearick Cemetery in Spring Mills.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Betty may be given to Centre Care, attn Resident Fund, 250 Persia Road, Bellefonte, PA 16823.
