Betty M. (Breon) Strouse

Betty M. Strouse, of Spring Mills, passed from this life on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at Mount Nittany Medical Center. She was 86.  Born May 23, 1935 in Spring Mills, Betty was a daughter of the late Clarence C. and Betsy E. “Decker” Breon.  She was a graduate of the former Gregg Township Vocational School.  On June 30, 1952, she married the love of her life, Walter R. Strouse who preceded her in death on January 11, 2010.

Betty was a homemaker and helped Walter on the family farm.  She also worked part time at the Seven Mountains Nursery counting trees.  She was a member of the Gregg Township Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed going to the casino, eating out, and walking with special friends Nancy and Diane.  Betty especially cherished her family and the time she spent with them.

Betty is survived by one daughter, Patricia Strouse, three sons, Kenneth Strouse, Ronald Strouse (Tammie) and Dennis Strouse, all of Spring Mills.  Also surviving is one sister, Kathy Snavely, nine grandchildren, Jonathan and Stacey Marino, Melanie Styers, Rachel Hackenberg, Latrisha Orban, Christina and Tamara Vaskovich, Sara Wert and Nathan Strouse and thirteen great grandchildren.  In addition to her husband, Betty was preceded by siblings, Robert Breon, Henry Breon and Connie Smith.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2022 from 12 noon until 2:00 pm at the Steven R. Neff Funeral Home in Millheim, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 pm with Pastor Michael Covalt officiating.  Betty will be laid to rest in Fairview West Cemetery in Millheim.  Contributions in her memory may be given to Penns Valley EMS, 106 Ross Hill Road, Spring Mills, PA 16875 or to The Hope Fund, Po Box 427, Centre Hall, PA 16828.  Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.stevenrnefffuneralhome.com.
