Betty A. Zettle

Betty A. Zettle, of Spring Mills, passed away at her home on Saturday, August 24, 2024.  She was 96.  Born January 20, 1928, in Pine Grove Mills, Betty was a daughter of the late Roy B. and Roxy “Breon” Henry.  On December 12, 1947, she married Dean R. Zettle who preceded her in death on September 19, 1998.

Betty had been employed at the former Murata Erie in State College.  She loved to read books, especially her bible.  She also enjoyed reading angel stories and was a collector of angels.  Grange Fair was another activity Betty enjoyed.  Most of all she cherished the time spent with her family. 

Betty is survived by three sons, Dean E. Zettle (Diane) of Spring Mills, Donald R. Zettle of Centre Hall and David R. Zettle (Tracy) of Aaronsburg; one sister, Adaline Sweeley; seven grandchildren, Dean Zettle, Brad Zettle, Brian Zettle, Chastity Houser (David), Valerie Wolfe (Matt), Nathan Zettle and Tawsha Kratzer (Donnie).  Also surviving are ten great grandchildren, Derek Zettle (Taylor), Dustin Zettle, Isaac Zettle, Skylar Zettle, Hayley Wolfe, Logan Wolfe, Aaron Wolfe, Wyatt Zettle, Dylan Kerstetter and Cameron Stroup and one great great grandchild on the way.  In addition to her husband and parents, Betty was preceded in death by her daughter in law, Cathy A. Zettle and four brothers, Roy, Ron, Dick and Jerry Henry.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:00 am – 11:00 am on Friday, August 30, 2024, at the Steven R. Neff Funeral Home in Millheim.  The funeral service will follow at 11:00 am.  Betty will be laid to rest in Centre County Memorial Park in State College.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Betty’s name may be given to the Penns Valley Hope Fund, POB 427, Centre Hall, PA 16828.
