Bruce Boob, of Spring Mills, passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at Wynwood House in Centre Hall. He was 92. Born March 30, 1930 in Spring Mills, Bruce was a son of the late Guerney and Mildred “Maize” Boob. He was the husband of Phyllis “Fetterolf” Boob who preceded him in death in 2014.
Bruce is survived by two sons Charles Bobb (Lynnea) of Etters and Ray Boob (Amy) of Centre Hall; one sister, Alyce Kolesar of NC; six grandchildren, Ryan Boob (Melinda), Nathaniel Bobb, Anthony Boob (Audrey), Gillian Bobb (Aaron), Allison Bobb, and Ashley Jones (Matt). Also surviving are fourteen great grandchildren; one great great grandson and many nieces and nephews. Bruce was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Mary Ellen and grandson Bradley Boob.
Bruce spent many years employed at Penns Cave and later, Clasters, and Hanover Brands. He was an avid hunter and belonged to the Logan Sportsman’s Club. He also loved collecting coins and other things. He was very active in the Spring Mills Fish & Game, Gregg Township Fire Company and Ambulance Association. He enjoyed going to Grange Fair where he parked cars for many years. He also parked cars at Ag Progress Days and Penn State football games. He could often be found chatting & enjoying some food with football fans in a nearby RV when he was there.
Bruce will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery at a later date. Contributions in his memory may be given to the Gregg Township Fire Company, POB 82, Spring Mills, PA 16875.
