Bruce R. Richardson, formerly of Spring Mills, passed away Friday, September 3, 2021 at Centre Care in Bellefonte. He was 80. Born September 21, 1940 in Coburn, Bruce was a son of the late Orvis and Sarah “Wingard” Richardson.
Bruce was employed doing car detailing at a car dealership in Williamsport. Later he was employed as a laborer for several construction companies. Bruce was a well-known person on the front porch of “Pickles” General Store in Spring Mills where he greeted those who came and went from the store. He enjoyed walking, joking and having fun with people, reading the newspaper, playing bingo and craft making at Centre Care. The family would like to thank the staff at Centre Care for their care of Bruce over the years.
Bruce is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He is the last of his family having been preceded in death by his siblings, Alma Brungart, Helen Baer, Shirley Person, Betty Scitti and Orvis, Glenn and Ronald Richardson.
“Have a good day, not a bad day. Have a safe trip not a sorry trip” was one of Bruce’s favorite sayings. We will miss you Bruce.
A visitation for family and friends will be held Tuesday, September 7, 2021 from 9:30-10:30 am at the Steven R. Neff Funeral Home in Millheim, followed by the funeral service at 10:30 am with Pastor Fred Bennett officiating. Bruce will be laid to rest in Spring Mills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bruce’s memory may be given to the Hope Fund of Penns Valley, PO Box 427, Centre Hall, PA 16828.
