Carolyn L. (Beckenbaugh) Lohr

Carolyn L. Lohr, of Aaronsburg, passed from this life on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at Mount Nittany Medical Center.  She was 76.  Born June 10, 1944 in Bellefonte, Carolyn was a daughter of the late Harold and Romayne (Stover) Beckenbaugh.  She was a 1962 graduate of Penns Valley High School.  She went on to obtain her beautician license at Empire Beauty School in State College.  On June 15, 1963 she married Allen P. Lohr who survives at their home.

Carolyn was the owner/operator of Carolyn’s Beauty Shop for over 54 years.  She had also volunteered her skills at Salem Hill Haven where she did hair for the residents.  She was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church in Aaronsburg.  Carolyn enjoyed vegetable gardening, crocheting, sewing, camping, attending Grange Fair and especially her yearly trips to Myrtle Beach with family.

In addition to her husband, Carolyn is survived by one son, Rodney A. Lohr (Christina) of Rebersburg; one brother, Dennis Beckenbaugh (Patty) of Millheim and four grandchildren, Caitlin, Brianna, Ciara and Trevor.  Carolyn was preceded in death by one daughter, Melody S. Morgan.

In accordance with family wishes, all services are private.  Contributions in memory of Carolyn may be given to Hearing Loss Association of America - Central PA Chapter, 1546 Kennelworth Court, State College, PA 16801.
