Charles O. Boob, of Millheim, passed from this life on February 12, 2022 at Mount Nittany Medical Center. He was 97. Born October 14, 1924 in Spring Mills, Charlie was a son of the late Clair R. and Lydia K. “Snyder” Boob. Charlie proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. After he came home, he met a pretty little girl at a dairy meeting in Mifflinburg. They were married on August 27, 1947 in Millheim. Mary preceded Charlie in death on December 2, 2013.
Early in life Charlie was employed in construction and also worked at the Laurelton State Center. However, for most of his life he was a farmer. He had attended St. James United Methodist Church in Coburn. Charlie enjoyed attending public sales, tinkering on his sawmill and Farmall tractors, cutting wood and, in his early years hunting. For 30 + years he was a volunteer at the Millheim Outreach Center.
Charlie is survived by three sons, Carson E. Boob and Samuel C. Boob (Patricia) both of Spring Mills and, Roger Boob of Mill Hall; one brother, Fred Boob of Aaronsburg; two grandchildren, Christy M. Cort (Ben) of CO and Dustin E. Boob (Ashley) of Aaronsburg. Also surviving are six great grandchildren, Emily, Chloe, Landon, Hunter, Lucas and Hoyt. Charlie was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Linda and one grandson, Samuel S. Boob and siblings, Robert, Margaret, Harry, Milton, Alice, Helen and Mary.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, February 18, 2022 from 9-11 am at the Steven R. Neff Funeral Home, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am with Pastor Theresa Heiser officiating. Charlie will be laid to rest in the Rays Church Cemetery in rural Mifflinburg.
