Charles W. "Charlie" Stover, of Spring Mills, passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2025. He was 66. Born August 12, 1958, in Bellefonte, Charlie was a son of the late Leroy and Lois M. “Johnson” Stover. He was a 1976 graduate of Penns Valley Area High School. On October 20, 1984, he married Cindy L. Wolfe who survives.
Charlie was self-employed in the excavating business. He also served the community as a Gregg Township supervisor for twelve years. Charlie was a member of the Gregg Township Fire Company, Liberty Township Sportsman Club, Weikert Sportsman Club and the Old Fort Masonic Lodge #537 in Centre Hall. He enjoyed vacationing in Maine, competitive shooting, hunting, fishing and especially camping with his granddaughters.
In addition to his wife Cindy, Charlie is survived by one daughter, Lindsay Stover (Jacob Everly) of West Grove; one son, Charles W. “Bub” Stover II (Elizabeth) of Spring Mills and one brother, Roger A. Stover (Jennifer) of Colyer. Also surviving are two granddaughters, Kendra R. Stover and Charlotte L. Stover.
Family and friends will be received from 9:30 am -11:30 am on Friday, January 17, 2025, at the Steven R. Neff Funeral Home in Millheim. There will be a Masonic service before the Celebration of Life at 11:30 am with Scott Heckman officiating. Contributions in memory of Charlie may be given to the Penns Valley EMS. Charlie will be laid to rest in Heckman Cemetery.
