Charlotte J. Horner, of Spring Mills, stepped into the arms of her Savior on Thursday, December16, 2021 at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College. She was 69. Born December 6, 1952 in Syracuse, New York, Charlotte was a daughter of the late Charles A. and Pauline B. “Hamilton” Smith. On July 13, 2005 she married Barry C. Horner, who survives at their home.
Charlotte had been employed in the housekeeping department at Penn State University, but for the last fourteen years she was employed as a child care attendant at the ABC Children’s Center in State College. Charlotte was a member of the Fellowship Bible Church in Spring Mills. She enjoyed camping, hiking, walking in the woods, Bible Study and crocheting, often donating many items she made to homeless shelters. Charlotte especially loved the Lord and spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband, Charlotte is survived by five children, Frances, Christine, Loretta, Brad and Dennis Stamm; one brother, Al Smith; one sister, Carol Mark and eight grandchildren, Haden, Elli, Jude Michael, Braden, Elias, Chenoah, Mariah and Tia. Charlotte was preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara and Fanny Smith.
In accordance with family wishes, all services are private. Charlotte will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in Millheim. Contributions in memory of Charlotte may be given to the Penns Valley EMS, 106 Ross Hill Road, Spring Mills, PA 16875.
