Daniel J. Simcox of Centre Hall, passed away at his home on Sunday, January 16, 2022. He was 72. Born October 10, 1949 in Lock Haven, Dan was a son of the late John E. and Betty L. “Mateer” Simcox.
Dan was a graduate of Sugar Valley High School. He had been employed as a daylight operator at the former Corning Ashai company in State College with 20+ years of service. He was a member of the White Birch Hunting Club, the Miles Twp. Fire Company, the Sugar Valley Social Club and the Centre Hall American Legion. Dan was a great supporter of youth, high school and local sports teams. He was an avid fan of Penn State Football. He had coached a Penns Valley Girls softball team in the State College League, umpired girls softball and little league for years and played softball himself for Hawksworth Trucking in Loganton. Dan will be missed by his family.
Dan is survived by three siblings, Susan Simcox of Lock Haven, Sandra Garverick (Danny) and George Simcox, both of Loganton; nieces and nephews, Scott Garverick (Yuliya) of Havertown, Heidi Lucas (Chris) of Loganton, Jesse Simcox (Nichole) of Lock Haven and Shane Simcox (Kristy) of Mill Hall. Also surviving are numerous great nieces and nephews.
