David L. Sprowls

David L. Sprowls, of Millheim, passed away at his home on Wednesday, February 4, 2026.  He was 74.  Born January 10, 1952, in Warsaw, IN, Dave was a son of the late Louis and Sara (Burns) Sprowls. 

Dave was a graduate of Bellwood Antis High School where he had played and excelled at basketball.  He went on to attend Drexel University and then he attended Penn State University Mont Alto campus where he attained his associate’s degree.  Dave was employed with State College Borough as a Draftsman/Surveyor for over thirty-eight years. 

Dave enjoyed gardening – mostly flowers and raising house plants.  He loved hiking and being outdoors, surrounded by the beauty of nature and God’s wonders.  He enjoyed watching Penn State football and Pittsburgh Steeler football.  Dave especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren and his special feline friend, Shadow.  Because of his faith and love for Jesus, he is now enjoying the views of nature from heaven.

Dave is survived by one daughter, Megan VanNoy (Jonathan) of Canton; one son, Joshua Sprowls of Bellefonte; three siblings, Esther Ashbaugh of Phoenixville, Ruth Johnson of Pittsburgh, and Mark Sprowls (Barb) of OH.  Also surviving are three grandchildren, Makenna Sprowls, Caleb VanNoy and Christian VanNoy. 

In accordance with Dave’s wishes, there are no services planned.  Contributions in memory of Dave may be given in support of the Millheim pool to PVPRA, Po Box 395, Millheim, PA 16854.
