Dean R. Kerstetter, formerly of Rebersburg, passed away January 13, 2024, at Wynwood House at Salem Hill Haven. He was 94. Born June 28, 1929, in Spring Mills, Dean was a son of the late Thomas R. and Ruth N. “Grove” Kerstetter. He married Phyllis J. Decker on July 19, 1949, and she preceded him in death on July 30, 2018.
Dean was employed with the railroad track maintenance department for Conrail with 45 years of service. He was a member of the former St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Spring Mills, now New Hope Lutheran Church. Dean enjoyed gardening and hunting and fishing. He and Phyllis enjoyed their yearly fishing trips to Canada.
Dean is survived by one daughter, Bonnie Lilyquist of Howard; one great grandson, Ethan Swarm; one great great granddaughter, Ellyanna Swarm and one great great grandson, Kellan Swarm. In addition to his wife, Dean was preceded in death by his son in law, William Lilyquist, his granddaughter, Nicole Swarm and his sister, Martha Chamberlain
The family would like to thank special friends John Weaver and Dawn and Del Billott who helped Dean with a lot of his everyday chores while he was at home.
In accordance with Dean’s wishes, there are no public services.
