Diane Louise Long-Poorman, 81, of Madisonburg, entered into rest on Sunday, December 31, 2023, at Mount Nittany Medical Center. She was born July 4, 1942, in Madisonburg, the daughter of the late Russell and Stella (Duck) Long.
Diane was a graduate of Penns Valley High School. After graduation Diane went on to become a Registered Nurse in the state of Pennsylvania.
Diane had a passion for Civil War history; of which, the battle of Gettysburg was of particular importance. Diane enjoyed visiting Gettysburg, and she often reminisced of her visits to the area throughout her life. Diane also enjoyed British Royal History and was particularly fond of Princess Diana.
Diane’s greatest passion was her love of animals. Throughout her life, Diane held a very special place in her heart for all animals. Diane would often share stories of her favorite friends, such as her beloved cat “Pusser”, and her cow that she lovingly named “Number 39”.
Surviving is her spouse Michael Poorman of Bellefonte, her daughter Susan Stevanoff of Longmont, CO, her son Scott Stefanko of Pleasant Gap, and her granddaughter Hadley Stefanko also of Pleasant Gap. She was preceded in death by her brother, Pastor Philip Long of Pittsburgh, PA.
