Elizabeth Jane (Carper) Rimmey

Surrounded by her loving family, Elizabeth Jane (Carper) Rimmey of Centre Hall, formerly of Aaronsburg, passed from this life after a hard fought battle with pancreatic cancer on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at her home.  She was 78.  Born April 13, 1943 in Spring Mills, Jane as she was known, was a daughter of the late Ray John Carper and Lodie May “Musser” Carper.  She was a graduate of Penns Valley Area High School.  On September 27, 1969 she married Amos Edgar Rimmey who survives at their home.

In addition to her husband, Jane is survived by one son, Scott Allen Rimmey and, one daughter, Kimberly Ann Rimmey, both of Centre Hall.  Also surviving is one brother, Michael “Mick” Carper (Donna) of Aaronsburg and, one sister, Nancy Gwinn of AZ, along with numerous nieces and nephews.  Jane was preceded in death by siblings, Harold Carper, Allegra “Sis” Thompson, Frank “Chub” Carper and, Barry “Boo” Carper. 

Jane worked alongside Edgar on the family farm in her younger years.  Later she was employed as an aide at Renaissance Elder Care.  Jane enjoyed flower gardening, cooking, and taking care of her home, especially mowing the yard and tending to her lilac bushes.  Jane loved time spent with her family as well, especially during the holidays and, in particular Christmas.  She loved Christmas so much she had a special room in her home devoted to it.

In accordance with Jane’s wishes, all services are private.  She will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in Millheim.  Contributions in memory of Jane may be given to UPMC Family Hospice, 20 Sheraton Drive, Altoona PA. 16601.
