Eugene Pecht Obituary

Eugene C. Pecht, of Rebersburg, passed away Friday, February 28, 2025, at Mount Nittany Medical Center.  He was 92.  Born May 29, 1932, in Siglerville, Gene was a son of the late Charles Edwin and Ellen Catherine “Reed” Pecht.  Gene was a graduate of the former Centre Hall/Potter High School in Centre Hall.  On July 2, 1960, Gene married Nancy A. Bigelow who preceded him in death on May 2, 2023.

Gene served our country in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict.  He was employed by the State College Area School District as the Maintenance Supervisor at Lemont Elementary School.  Gene was a member or the Miles Township Fireman’s Club, Millheim Fireman’s Club, and American Legion Keystone Post #444 in Millheim.  In his early years Gene enjoyed hunting. More recently he enjoyed shooting darts, bowling, and playing pinochle with family.  Gene was an avid baseball and football fan and closely followed the Pittsburgh Pirates and Penn State football.

Gene is survived by one son, James A. Pecht (Lucille) of Allen, TX; one brother, Charles H. Foust of Spring Mills and his grandson, Branden Pecht, also of TX.  In addition to his wife Nancy, Gene was preceded in death by six siblings, Mary Ellen Pecht, Robert Pecht, Frederick L. Pecht, William Merle Pecht, Charles E. Pecht and Grant T. Pecht.

Gene will be laid to rest in the Fairview West Cemetery in Millheim.  A service will be announced at a later date.  Contributions in memory of Gene may be given to the Penns Valley EMS, 106 Ross Hill Road, Spring Mills, PA 16875
