Genevieve H. "Gen" Krape

Genevieve “Gen” H. Krape formerly of Aaronsburg, passed away Friday, January 7, 2022 at Wynwood House at Salem Hill Haven in Spring Mills.  She was 81.  Born August 7, 1940 in Aaronsburg, Gen was a daughter of the late George M. and Nora M. “Smith” Hackenburg.  She was a 1958 graduate of Penns Valley Area High School.  On September 16, 1962 in Millheim, she married Dean H. Krape who preceded her in death on December 21, 2009

Gen was employed as a secretary at the Ron Fetzer Insurance Agency in Millheim with 10 plus year of service.  She was a member of the former St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Millheim, then transferred to Trinity United Methodist Church in Woodward.  There she was involved with the church choir and the ladies aid.  She was also a member of the Women’s Mid-Day Connection in Boalsburg, the Eastern Star of Centre Hall, and, the Millheim Women’s Club.  Gen enjoyed helping at the annual Dutch Fall Festival, gathering with her graduating class once a month, attending Grange Fair, traveling and, camping with Dean at the Black Panther Riding and Camping Club where they were members. 

Gen is survived by one daughter Amy Krape Wesley of Bellefonte and one granddaughter, Jade A. Krape of Mt. Lebanon.  In addition to her husband, Gen was preceded in death by one sister, Roselyn Reamer.

Gen will be laid to rest in Salem Lutheran Cemetery in Aaronsburg; however, in accordance with family wishes, all services are private at this time.  There may be a service held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Gen may be sent to Amy Krape Wesley, 104 W. Crawford Lane, Bellefonte, PA 16823.
