Surrounded by her loving family, Gloria A. McClellan of Spring Mills, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2024, at her home. She was 73. Born August 11, 1951, in Phoenixville, Gloria was a daughter of the late A. Clair and Eva S. “Godshall” Sheats. She was a 1969 graduate of Penns Valley High School. On December 17, 1972, she married Roy G. McClellan who survives at their home.
In addition to her husband, Gloria is survived by two daughters, Angela Figart (Stan) of Centre Hall and Jennifer Houtz (Tim) of Spring Mills; five siblings, Elaine Hadden (Gene) of Dixonville, Linda Kimble of Rebersburg, Karen Montoya (Arturo) of Indiana, David Sheats (Melody) of Rebersburg and Charlotte DeGarmo (Ron) of Coburn. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Joanne Brown (Ira), Morgan Houtz, Amanda Gerhart, Joshua Vonada (Monica), Brady Houtz, Theodore Houtz and Colten Houtz; two great grandchildren, Rip Brown, and Herbert Vonada, and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Gloria attended the Valley Mennonite Chapel. She was a homemaker and loved to babysit children. She enjoyed bird watching (especially hummingbirds), vegetable and flower gardening, and attending the Nittany Antique Machinery Association show. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and Ollie, her special canine companion.
Family and friends will be received from 10:00 am until noon on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at the Valley Mennonite Chapel, 4184 Brush Valley Road, Spring Mills, PA. The funeral service will follow at noon with Pastor Kenneth Freed officiating. Gloria will be laid to rest in the Valley Mennonite Church Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Gloria may be given to the Valley Mennonite Chapel.
