Harry H. Hammond

On Sunday November 6, 2022, beloved husband, father, and "Poppy", Harry H. Hammond of Lenni, PA and Aaronsburg, PA passed away suddenly.  

Harry was born to Beatrice and Crawford Hammond in 1951 and lived in his house on Crozerville Rd for over 64 years.  In 1971, he married Susan and together they raised three children, Vickie, Travis, and Jarad.

Harry married Margi in 2007, and after 50 years as a hard-working local 451 union ironworker, they retired to his long dreamed of "cabin in the woods" in Aaronsburg, PA in 2018 where he continued enjoying his childhood love of horses, fishing, hunting, and motorcycle riding. He is known to his friends and family for his dry sense of humor and his ability to always be the last person up at the campfire at the end of the night.  

As a young man, he served as a volunteer firefighter, later as a Boy Scout leader, and continued his service in recent years providing transportation to the Amish community in the local area.  

Harry recently chose to become an organ donor and heroically met the criteria that only 0.3% of potential donors meet to actually fulfill that wish.  We are hopeful that his gift will enable others to live longer. 

He is preceded in death by his sister Dora, and survived by his wife Margi, his three children, his stepchildren Kim and Meg, his grandchildren Robert, Heather, Jessie, Samantha, Riley, and Callum, and great grandchildren Abigail, Brianne, Colton, and Gianna.
