Surrounded by his loving family, James Robert Boob, of Marysville, passed from this life at his daughter’s home on March 11, 2021. He was 91. Born July 2, 1929 in Coburn, Jim was a son of the late Raymond P. and Carrie (Neese) Boob. He was married to Virginia (Kane) Boob who preceded him in death.
Jim was employed with the Amtrak, as a switch operator in the train yard. After retirement, Jim always kept busy. He enjoyed helping family members with handyman projects around their homes. Jim was an avid fisherman. He had a small business, Jim’s Lures where he made and sold all kind of fishing lures, tied flies and even made sinkers. He enjoyed working outdoors in the yard, and keeping up with the current events, but most of all Jim loved time spent with his family.
Surviving Jim are two daughters, Ginny Eppley (Frank) of Smethport and Sandra Gipe (Dick) of Marysville, with whom Jim resided; one son, James R. Boob, II (Chris) of Manchester; eleven grandchildren, Kimberlee Campbell, Jessica Hefenfinger, Kelsey Gipe, Christina Sanderson, Nicole Pusher, Kyle Conley, Jasmine, Mandy and Ryan Boob, Tawsha Robinson and Roger Robinson. Also surviving are twenty great grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Jim was preceded in death by siblings, Ella Zerby, Nancy Grieb and John, Paul, William and Stanley Boob.
A visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday, March 17, 2021 from 10-11 am at the Steven R. Neff Funeral Home in Millheim, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am with Rev Frank Eppley officiating. Jim will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in Millheim. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Jim may be given to Residential Health Care Group, 100 Sterling Parkway, Suite 110, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050.
