Surrounded by his loving family, James C. Houtz, of Rebersburg, passed away March 25, 2025, at his home. He was 77. Born October 21, 1947, in Bellefonte, Jim was a son of the late William K. and Charlotte E. “Campbell” Houtz. Jim was a 1965 graduate of Penns Valley Area High School. In May of 1968, he married Sandra I. Frankenberger, who survives at their home.
In his early years, Jim helped his father on the family farm. This is where he found his love of tractors. Most recently he had been employed as a farm equipment salesman with Cummings and Bricker. He was a member of the Nittany Antique Machinery Association. Jim enjoyed tinkering around with his tractors and attending the tractor pulls at the Penns Cave show in the spring and fall and at Grange Fair.
In addition to his wife Sandra, Jim is survived by three sons, Terry J. Houtz (Michele) of Rebersburg, Robert G. Houtz (Cameron) of MA and Steven E. Houtz (Jodi) of Rebersburg. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Dominic Houtz (Sierra), Jordin Houtz, Ty Houtz and Mason Houtz.
