Surrounded by her loved ones, Janice L. Stewart, of Centre Hall, passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at Mount Nittany Medical Center. She was 84. Born August 18, 1938, in Lock Haven, Janice was a daughter of the late Charles and Emma (Lomison) Lucas.
She was a graduate of Lock Haven High School. Janice was first employed at the Boalsburg Military Museum. She then went to Rockview State Penitentiary where she retired from as an administrative assistant. Janice loved crocheting, playing board games and bingo. She was an excellent homemaker and mentor to many. Every year, Janice looked forward to the Grange Fair. Most of all, Janice loved family gatherings and spending time with her family and friends.
Janice is survived by one daughter, Susan Stewart-Cope of Florissant, CO; one granddaughter, Tiffany Cope; two great grandsons; one brother, John “Jack” Lucas and numerous nieces and nephews. Janice was preceded in death by two daughters, Joan Stewart and Sharon Yearick, along with siblings, Norma Rhoades, Robert Lucas, Marjorie Gardner, Alan Lucas and Dennis Lucas.
A Celebration of Life service will be announced at a later date. Contributions in memory of Janice may be given to www.stjude.org.
