Jennie L. "Jane" Auman-Miller

Jennie L. “Jane” Auman Miller, of Centre Hall, passed away Monday, December 29, 2025, at Wynwood House in Centre Hall.  She was 99.  Born May 3, 1926, in Axemann, Jane was a daughter of the late Jerry and Jennie (Stover) Owens. 

On January 29, 1949, she married William F. Auman who preceded her in death.  On September 14, 2002, she married Charles F. Miller who also preceded her in death. 

Jane is survived by three daughters, Bonnie Miller (Don) of Bellefonte, Judith Wray (Michael) of Burnham and Mary Wertz of Lewistown; two sons, William Auman Jr. (Kathie) of State College and Gregory Auman (Cara) of Pleasant Gap. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.  Jane was the last of her family having been preceded by twelve siblings; she was also preceded by one son, Larry Auman; one grandson, Rodney Pressler, and her son-in-law Merle Wertz.

Music was Jane’s passion.  Jane began performing with her siblings at a young age.  Then at the age of 22, Jane formed her own band with her siblings called the Rhythmaires.  They played country and gospel music with Jane being the lead vocalist and lead guitar player. In her later years when she was in her 70’s and 80’s, Jane and her siblings also performed in nursing homes.  

Family and friends will be received on Monday, January 5, 2026, from 10:00 am until noon.  The funeral will follow at noon with Pastor Theresa Heiser officiating.  Jane will be laid to rest in Holy Cross Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Jane may be given to the charity of donor’s choice.  Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.stevenrnefffuneralhome.com.
