Joseph David “Joe” McCool, of Rebersburg, passed away unexpectedly October 30, 2025, at his residence. He was 67. Born May 15, 1958, in Bellefonte, Joe was a son of the late Francis E. and Gladys J. (Lingle) McCool. He was a 1976 graduate of Penns Valley Area High School. On July 24, 1993, he married Deborah Wood who survives at their home.
Joe was employed as a finish carpenter with Veronesi Building & Remodeling. He was a former member of the Millheim Fire Company. Joe enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, and watching Pittsburgh Pirates baseball. In his younger years he played softball in the county league. He especially loved riding his Harley motorcycle with bike week in Sturgis, SD being one of his destinations.
In addition to his wife, Deb, Joe is survived by three children, Samantha Bressler (Neal Boob) of Spring Mills, Ben Prough of Rebersburg and Madison McCool of New York City; four siblings, Steven E. McCool (Sharon) of Hanover, Thomas M. McCool (Susan) of Centre Hall, Jeffrey L. McCool (Cathy) of Milroy and Philip McCool of Madisonburg. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Allison, Westley, Alaina, Natalie and Conner and two step grandchildren, Geno and William.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, beginning at 3:00 pm at the Millheim Hotel. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Joe may be given to Steven R. Neff Funeral Home, POB 437, Millheim PA 16854.
