Joyce L. (McClintic) Brown Fohringer

Surrounded by her family, Joyce L. (McClintic) Brown Fohringer, of Centre Hall, passed away at her home on Friday, February 3, 2023.  She was 78.  Born September 14, 1944, in Bellefonte, Joyce was a daughter of the late Samuel R. and Esther G. (Lohr) McClintic.  Joyce was raised by her great aunt and uncle, Leah and Howard Frazier.  Joyce was first married to James E. Brown who preceded her in death April 21, 2004.  On December 15, 2007, she married Robert L. Fohringer who survives at their home. 

Joyce was a graduate of Bellefonte Area High School.  She had been employed at the former Corning Glass Works.  She was a member of the Fellowship Bible Church in Spring Mills.  She enjoyed word search and crossword puzzles, traveling, crocheting, and attending the Nittany Antique Machinery Show and Grange Fair.  She was a huge animal lover, her favorite being her late Jack Russell, Peanut. 

In addition to her husband, Joyce is survived by four daughters, Nancy G. Aukerman (Darryl) of Millheim, Tina L. Homan (N. Craig) of Spring Mills, Beth A. Covalt (Jody) of Centre Hall and Marci C. Long (Brian) of Spring Mills, and one son, Terry L. Brown (Michele) of Pleasant Gap.  Also surviving are thirteen grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.  Joyce was preceded in death by one grandson, Nevin James Homan: one great grandson, Noah James Rishel and siblings Pat Stout and Glen McClintic. 

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at the Fellowship Bible Church on Lower Georges Valley Road in Spring Mills.  The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm with Pastor Michael Covalt officiating.  Joyce will be laid to rest in Mountain Cemetery in Spring Mills.  Contributions in memory of Joyce may be given to Fellowship Bible Church, c/o Mike Covalt, 263 Reeder Road, Spring Mills, PA 16875 or to Pets Come First, 2451 General Potter Highway, Centre Hall, PA 16828.
