Joyce E. Sipley

Joyce E. Sipley, of Aaronsburg, passed away unexpectedly at her home on June 14, 2026.  She was 86.  Born December 12, 1939, in Newton, NJ, Joyce was a daughter of the late Herman A. and Hazel E. (Kice) VanScoten.  She was a graduate of Belvidere High School in New Jersey.  Joyce was married to Lawrence R. “Larry” Sipley, Sr. on June 28, 1957.  Larry preceded Joyce in death on April 18, 2019.

Joyce is survived by one son, Lawrence R. “Ralph” Sipley, Jr. of Aaronsburg; two brothers, Fred VanScoten (Millie) of Blairstown, NJ and Ronald VanScoten of Bangor, PA; one sister, Bonnie Eckman of Bangor, PA and three grandchildren, Winona Lefsky (Jason) of Bangor, Dana Nemeth (Jospeh) Glenfield, NY and Autumn Kauffman of Roseto, PA.  Also surviving are four great grandchildren, Gage, Troy, Kendall and Skylar.  In addition to her husband, Joyce was preceded in death by her daughter, Trixie L. Sipley-Haebler.

Joyce was employed at M&M Mars candy factory as a machine operator, retiring with 20 years of service.  In 1992 she and Larry bought a farm here in Pennsylvania and left New Jersey.  She enjoyed helping Larry around the farm, especially raising goats.  Among her other interests were gardening (flower) and sewing.  She also enjoyed traveling and camping with Larry.
