Larry E. Shook, 84 of Spring Mills, passed away December 18, 2020 at Wynwood-Salem Hill Haven in Spring Mills. He was the loving husband of Janet “Janie” Rossman Shook for 62 years. He was born in Spring Mills on June 15th, 1936, a son of the late Nevin and Hazel (Colyer) Shook. He worked as a draftsman/engineer for the former Gettig Engineering and Pharmaceutical Company in Spring Mills for over 40 years. He and his wife Janie also co-owned and operated the Salem Hill Haven Personal Care Home in Spring Mills for over 20 years.
Larry was a man of few words, but always enjoyed the company of family and friends. He was a member of the Salem U.C.C. Church. Larry was an active supporter of many community activities in Millheim for his entire life. He enjoyed his hobby of woodworking and, his skills at that hobby were second to none.
In addition to his beloved wife Janie, he is survived by one son, Rick Shook (Deb) of Dillsburg, PA; grandchildren, Ryan Shook (Beth), Courtney Shook and his son Myles and, Chad Shook (Katie) and their sons Sean and Gavin.
A memorial service will be held for immediate family only due to current gathering restrictions. Burial will be at Heckman Cemetery in Spring Mills. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be offered to Salem United Church of Christ, c/o Peggy Swartz, 638 Tattletown Road, Aaronsburg, PA 16820.
